In 1961, the Wylie Memorial High School initiated its humble origins with its first batch of fourteen students. Today, in our golden jubilee year of school operations, Wylie is proud to have significantly contributed both to the evolution and development of the education landscape in Ludhiana, having pioneered the cause of formal, primary education.
In its momentous journey since inception, Wylie has achieved a number of significant milestones:

  • Since the last 50 years, more than 10000 students have proudly passed out of the portals of this school.
  • One major development in the last decade was the setting up and development of International links : we are linked with the Dornoch Academy, Scotland since 2001 and Aylesbury High School, England since 2003.. Also we have been highlighted as a success story by the British Council.
  • One of our biggest pluses has been our ability to nurture and sustain our international linkages – today, Wylie Memorial High School is proud to be a par of Transcontinental Group linking schools in UK, Kenya and India.
  • These international linkages has manifested in important spin-offs for us – e.g., all teachers at Wylie get exposure to seminars and training both local as well as international. Also as part of exchange programs, we get teachers and trainers from our partner schools in the UK visiting us to conduct week long seminars.
  • Today, Wylie is setting up Ludhiana’s first World School w.e.f. April 2011, paving way for yet another first for itself.
